The Politics of Pride
The police were told that they couldn't wear the thin blue line badge which to them commemorates sort of policemen who were killed in action murdered in response to a burglary for example. The Met's dress code policy sets out the official uniform police officers must adhere to while serving the public without fear or favor and this year's pride is focusing very much on the trans community, an overtly political statement. They just contradict themselves almost in the same sentence but it reminds me of um uh I think Pep Guardiola was reprimanded by the FA for wearing a badge to signal his solidarity with the catalans him being a Catalan or from Catalonia he was told no you can'tYou can't wear that that
