The police were told that they couldn't wear the thin blue line badge which to them commemorates sort of policemen who were killed in action murdered in response to a burglary for example. The Met's dress code policy sets out the official uniform police officers must adhere to while serving the public without fear or favor and this year's pride is focusing very much on the trans community, an overtly political statement.
