Sand Is Always on the Move

In India alone, the UN is aware of thousands of illegal sand mining sites. Pascal says we just have to be smarter about how we use sand. We could make our buildings with thinner concrete walls or using different ingredients in concrete like sawdust and ashes. You can actually add chemicals to desert sand to make it sturdy enough for construction.
