How a Fetus in a Womb Breathes
Red and blue blood just doesn't mix in the heart. The lungs are full of water, so you're not going to get any oxygen from them. Blood goes through a trap door into the right atrium where it normally would have gone - but that's oka because foetus is surrounded by water. For fetus, the oxygen comes from ma, the mother,. She does the process you just laid out, and then this wonderful oxueof blood that's bright red, gets sent down to the placenta. Placenta grabs the oxygen and puts it into the foetus blood.
