Why Guyana Is Turning to the Unlikeliest of Sources to Pay for Climate Adaptation
Hargit Singh says polluters continue to receive incentives in the form of subsidies from their home governments. Guyana very much wants to, like many others in the world today, say that it can pay to protect its forests by drilling for oil and it's a devil's bargain. Most of her countrymen don't want to see that Guyana's industry killed off so much as they want oil money to actually make their lives better.
