G.A.R. Group will take charge of health in men's prisons for the Victorian government when a new contract comes into play this July. The company is linked to correct care, which was involved in the death of indigenous woman Veronica Nelson during her time in prison. Correct care had previously run all public prisons in Victoria but they were not allowed to do so due to tax reasons. G.A. R. Group has been asked to re-hire every staff member working already on the current contract and have said that things won't change at all.
