Neonatal HSB Infections - Is There a Risk of Transmission?

The mother has no history of auralabial, HSB or genital herpes. The father does get recurrent auralabian herpes and in fact has a noticeable ulcerating lesion on his upper lip when further history is obtained. Neonatal hepatic infections often are severe with high mortality and morbidity even when a deviral therapy is administered.
