The Rise and Fall of the Xenophon Symposium

Drinking was a big pastime among ancient Greeks. Was it just an upper class thing or was every class into the heavy drinking, so to speak, the modern college culture? We don't have evidence of all of the details of them in the same way that we have Plato giving us an account of what a symposium with Socrates in attendance might have been like. But I tend to think that a lot more people were having symposia.
