Is the State Really Taking Up the Slack in Administrating Social Welfare?
In effect, what they then are allowed to do is they provide another vehicle for elites to pick and choose what kind of social welfare they want to fund. So it just takes away the ability of the public to actually decide what social problems we're going to tackle. Because ultimately, these are private institutions. They're only so responsive to the government in the sense that they just need to do whatever they need to do to get the next grant. It really insulate the state, and the people's ability to dictate how we are going to deal with social problems.
