Using Ram Pressure Stripping to Stop the Formation of Stars in Galaxies
Galaxy clusters have a big atmosphere of hot gas, sort of at a million degrees. And that as the galaxy moves through that plasma, it's exactly the same thing. So you can actually just completely strip away all that material from the galaxy and stop it forming stars directly. It provides different pathways to quenching, you know, putting out the fire an galaxies essentially.
