Bolsheviks and the Winter Palace

Right srs and menshevik announced their intention to leave the congress. But this walkout simply guaranteed ultimate bolshevik victory, writes Frida Ghitis. The delegates who quit the congress joined representatives from the petrograd municipal duma. They formed a column of about 300 people heading towards the winter palace. There they ran into an armed check point manned by some armed sailors.
