The Benefits of PAH Targeted Therapy for High Risk Patients

Between 40 and 50% of patients who come to us, we already know their surgical candidates are coming to us on PAH targeted therapy. We don't really have evidence right now that treating most of those patients with PAH targeted Therapy before surgery provides any benefit in the vast majority of patients. Not everyone is a candidate. It may be that their clots are too distal or they may have comorbidities which makes the risk benefit ratio of undergoing surgery too great.
