The Importance of the Mission Matters
The mission of fighting the strong enemy would be different than protecting civilians at a site in South Sudan that these Chinese peacekeepers probably don't have much investment in. The Taiwan question though, and I'm not the first person to raise this, is a complicated one for the Chinese. So on the one hand, yes, it's a crucial national mission. But also they're being portrayed as Chinese. And so there will be questions about like, well, how do we feel about hacking our compatriots? HowDo we feel about going into a conflict like that?
