The Importance of Tool Use in Politics

Marx has some very interesting ideas about the importance of tool use for the human relationship with the rest of nature. He cites approvingly Benjamin Franklin's definition of the human being as a tool making animal. In contrast to other species, humans hasn't evolutionary developed organs that are specifically related to a specific natural environment. Instead of organs functionally adjusted to a certain ecological niche or natural habitat, we have tools which can be used in many ways. That's why the reproduction of the human species can take so many different forms and why it's possible for this creature to become entangled in property relations.
