i first met mark in two thousand 13, two thousand 14 time frame. We were both a part of an organization called the defence anch peneers forum. Around that same time, the syrian civil war had started. And i was also in arabic italy specialist. The syrian government was starving out entire cities to break the will of populations. I viewed this as something i was doing as an air force officer that could become an air force capability. But we had to organize as a non profit because there was no way to execute an idea this crazy or different inside the air force. It came at a high cost - using shoestring resources and burning out our people.
