Bentham and the University of London
Usel, or the university of london, as it originally was, was founded in 18 26 and began teaching in 18 28. Bentham himself had little practical involvement but wrote an educational tract entitled crestomathea which means useful learning. It set out a curriculum founded on modern languages instead of the dead languages bentham himself had studied nor theology. And sa sal was self consciously intended to rival the church of england universities in oxford and cambridge.
