When he first ran for office in Ventura, and this is almost 20 years ago now, I was running for city council. A lot of the teachers who were, who were active, did endorse me. He says there's just enormous fear on lots of people's parts that a successful California future will look so different than a successful and affordable California of the past. But even some of the folks who are opposed to new housing and different kinds of housing, they don't always respond.
