Do Large Language Models in Deep Learning Understand Language?

Do large language models in deep learning understand language? In order to answer that question, you really have to come up with a theory of semantics. A lot of computer scientists are currently trying to answer the question off their own. So i talk about different sementic theories in the book at length. It's probably the major theme in the book. And i present a particular idea, or set of ideas, about th sementics of computation that reach all the back to the early twentieth century in mathematics. They have come through philosophy and into a theoretical canbete science of the last 20 years.
