The Twilight Hears and the Darkness Heards
John Maisfield was the poet laureate of Great Britain from 1930 to 1967. He wrote a poem about partridge's and I think it's about war. The only ones who hear the plaintiff cries of the surviving partridge is our twilight and darkness. Of course, they are not heard by the dead birds.
