A new report has found the number of borrowers at risk of mortgage stress is at its highest level since 2008, which was just before the global financial crisis. More than 1.4 million borrowers are considered atrisk of mortgage stress according to research by Roy Morgan. This is considered the highest level since just before the 2008 GFC and led to the RBA to slash the cash rate from 7.25% to 3% in the space of about half a year.
