Is the Media a Friend of Democracy?

There's a media problem here that is almost more profound than a democracy problem. The definition of objectivity in play these days doesn't even make sense from the perspective, like a martian visiting earth. You are watching an open assault on democracy versus people trying to hold democracy together. There seems be this desire to describe it as left versus right. And we have an extremest movement. But i don't want to let our elected officials off the hook either.
