Optimism and the Complexity of the Problem

I think this is a pretty important historical moment in the 1970s for a lot of social science practitioners. It's just, we're all naive, you know, when we start with these utopian ideals. So where the optimism persists, something is happening that I think is gradually de-politicizing it. That's in a way worse than what you're describing, grappling with the intractability of the problem.
