The Middle Ages

The middle ages were an era when western europe was overshadowed by greater societies to the east and, ah, but past that, i'm not going to put downa the latin west any more than that. The picture is not as bleak as the myth of the middle ages would have us, i believe. So let me go through some things that students have said, and that also friends, family acquaintances have presented to me when i ask them what do you think of the mediaevala world?
