Do Trend Following Firms Do Well in Stress Environments?
When these stress environments happen, you're looking at a portfolio that of typical fun managers are not looking yet. One thing that you learn about trenfalling over the ears, it is kind of difficult to make it work well on a single market. It will occasionally do very, very well, but most of the time you're bleeding money because you're buying high and selling low. Trend likes uncertainty, as we all know. And so in those kinds of environments where certainty on pricing is reduced, you don't know where it's exactly, the pressures going to drive markets.
