M, there's a book called silent spring, which was written by some one called rachel carson. It imagined a future where pastesides had wiped out wild life. And it seems like having that fictional component of the book, m really ded to the impact that it had on people. This is actually credited with rejuvenating the environmental movement. M, i suppose humans are very emotional, and may be often convinced more by emotional responses to something like fiction than just facts or statistics.
