Neanderthal Vocal Tract Reconstruction

In the late 90s, researchers started to basically publish evidence that laryngeal descent is not uniquely human. The reconstruction they made was basically so high in the Neanderthal reconstruction that it wouldn't have been able to lower its jaw or swallow. And this is something that scientists have issues with all the time. It's why you need to blind analysis because you will even unconsciously bias yourself to make your results where you think they'll go.
