I Call It Sleeve Rolling in the Face of Impossibility
We both have to try to fix things, as we also are aware that they're too broken to be fixed. It's a very specific comportment. I call it sleeve rolling in the face of impossibility. And it's not, by the way, it's neither optimism nor pessimism. So again, might my students joke, they call it pessimism, because it's that pascinated and a li closer pessimism. But it's filled with optimism of of a radical sort.
