In 15 77, when tycho's observatory, the ren borg, was under construction, Tycho established that the comet was moving freely among the planets. Hoskins: Tycho realized this had profound implications for the structure of the universe. If the comet was traveling among the planets, it would crash into the transparent spheres that the planets were moving on - but they weren't there. So what change next? It was the circles on circles, or epicycles, that dropped out in the early 16 hundreds.
