The Evolution of Symbiosis
There's remarkable cases of whole lineages of saccada that they eat sap and they need microbes to make that more nourishing. So, we normally think of symbiosis as being, you know, everyone benefits from a lovely, friendly partnership. But in reality, it's just interactions of unlike organisms, right? They can go from being extreme parasites where the ants been taken over by the fungus for the fungal benefit,. Right through to the other end of the scale where something is actually benefiting at the expense of the fungus.
