Nike is using a protocol called an authenticated transfer protocol. It lets them have the laces and the soul and the shoebox and all of that be a line item on someone's P&L that they can keep. There are no, there's no warehouse. There's no plastic involved. But it is a way for Nike to extend their reach into this hyper gamified culture that exists around their products.
