Stone Cuttings on Dona Island
There is a competing group of turkish archaeologists who are convinced that what these cuttings are on the shore are ancient trirene ship sheds. So we're having a big debate as to whether these are shipssheds or quarry cuts. There's even a remarkable stone stairway that leads from the church down below, all the way up to this marterium. We think there were stations of the cross. This was a major pilgrimage site for christian tourists at the end of antiquity.
