When I first started reading it, I wasn't sure whether it was completely a novel. But often when I say this book was inspired by my experiences with breast cancer, people assume that it is based on me and my life - which is not. The main thing that comes from my life is the breast cancer treatment because I write about that in such a way that you couldn't really make it up unless you've been through it or done a lot of research. A lot of the relationship and family stuff and career stuff is very different. And then there's another big key thing in the book, which is her mother has died but she didn't grow up in a tea rooms baking with her
