Is the Tiger Program No More?
The safety spectrum is critical to the path forward for these connected vehicle technologies. So we are in the process of working with the FCC who has indicated interest in moving in the near future to consider the best utilization of the spectrum. We believe that the spectrum can be considered for other transportation safety purposes without choosing DSRC, CDX, or a future 5G technology. And this is a way, it's an action forcing mechanism among ourselves to make sure that we update our rules, set exemptions over time and that we can bring automated vehicles to the road safely within seven years.
