"There's so much idealism mixed with such a lack of self awareness," he says. "I tell you, like, it was what a few months ago, all this stuff about homelessness blew up." He adds that Silicon Valley is full of people who have been lucky enough to make their own way in the world. But when they see someone less fortunate than them, some respond by saying 'get out of my face'
This episode surprised us; through a discussion of who is at fault in the latest series of new vs old-world spats, we realized that not only has the Internet fundamentally changed winners-and-losers, but also the very nature of economic competition and the type of regulation that is required.
