The Importance of Sustainability in Engineering

All of the engineering that we have been talking about, everything that we do, stays here on Earth. We don't spend that money and put it on a rocket and set fire to it. The answers to those problems translate directly into things that make everybody's lives better. I got into this job because I was inspired by the Apollo missions way back when. Humans are explorers. And so it's in our nature to do these things. By making sure that we have a program that is sustainable, that is affordable, that answers these questions. That to me is a reason for going. It's a reason we keep spending the taxpayers' money.
