The Politics of Green Innovation

The energy transition is very much like the railway system that I have a colleague in France who put forward that idea. Transition in Eastern Europe was also involving a partnership between public and private. And so it will be a costly process. Because we know it's costly, we have to acknowledge it, but we can finance this cost. It's not that the choice is that if we don't do anything, things get worse. The opportunity cost is that doing nothing is even more costly. But it would be the cost of not doing the thing.
