How to Deal With Divorce in the LDS Church
LZ: Treating people with love and kindness after a couple gets divorced, a missionary returns home or a youth begins to doubt their testimony is addressing a downstream problem. LZ: Why do people struggle with debilitating shame when they leave a mission early? Because there's a systemic problem with making the mission a crowning experience of a human being's life. We have created in our culture something that actually almost makes it inevitable that somebody would go through a crisis if they leave their mission early.
