The notion of seasons came from the westwards expansion of, you know, white Europeans. Growing up where I lived in Long Island, people still say, oh, it's June, summer started because we have that notion of seasons. We also don't really have a spring. And so flowers bloom around January because that's when the rains have come. But we're applying terms that don't apply because people just like brought them over from New York.
