The Impact of Rocket Launches on Climate Change

In 2019, all of the rocket launches accounted for something like 0.01% of emissions compared to Earthbound sources like cars and aircraft industry. The climate effect is actually 400 to 500 times larger. Depending on how many rockets are going to be launched per day, we could see as much as 100 kilotons of soot emitted per year from the Starship mission. That's a substantial increase in the amount of soot particles produced.
