How My TV Writing Career Influenced My Writing
Before you published your first novel, you'd spent eight years working in Hollywood including a stint writing for the CBS drama Cold Case. You also had an MFA in screenwriting from USC's famous film school. How did that TV writing career influence your books or even your writing today? I think it's good in that so like the bad is that with screenwriting, because it's something that's filmed, you're very limited in what you can put on the page. And so even to this day with my books, like I suck at description,. Like sometimes, I realize sometimes I never describe what people look like period.
