The Disgrace of Sir James Mundy

6 years before Becky was locked in that hospital room, there was a warning call. Another girl with dangerous behavioural issues was in desperate need of a secure pediatric mental health bed. She became known as Child X when her case was heard by the country's top family judge, Sir James Mundy. He couldn't help her either because nothing was available, and so he published what is now a famous judgement. A lot of these children are living on the margins of a society which doesn't care. I mean, it is unbelievable, except we know it happens. All of which makes me wonder if our country would have blood on its hands if we didn't properly care for our most vulnerable children.
