The Importance of Speaking the Language
I feel very fortunate to have been brought into French circles here. I kind of forget that there is probably a parallel social circle of Americans or experts that exist in Paris who don't have that dynamic. Even if you're not fluent in the language, sometimes I sit at drinks with friends and I can understand like a few sentences that they say. There's a way to more easily interact with people by changing your own energy. You know how like when someone's moving out of an apartment or doing renovation, you'll see like a bunch of crap on the sidewalk? And it's such a common thing to see here in Paris.
