The Best Places to Visit Outside of Rome

The ruins of Astia are really good, but not quite on a par with Pompeii because you didn't have the artwork that was preserved and things like that. St. Paul's is something you'd probably have to take a taxi to get to. And again, there were very few people when I was there, but it was basically nothing. It's arguably better than anything in Rome itself in terms of how much of it is preserved.
