"I've never been dead before. I don't know any ghosts and don't get a chance to talk to them, but just trying to understand their pain," she says. "There would be no real distinction between how the regrets that a ghost might have ... there would be little difference between that and someone who was living" She writes at her desk in the wee hours of the morning or on nature trills with gel pen and clipboard. Her mind is so rich with so many landscapes it's hard to describe.
