What Is the Point of a Governments Token?

Board apes and mutin apes are tokens that can be traded on the Ugalabs network. The token is a way for people to play board ape games, even if they can't afford an ape. It's not yet clear how much money was given out in initial coin offering (ICO), but it has raised over $100 million from investors so far.
