The ICJ Initiative in Vanuatu
Vanuatu is leading a coalition of countries seeking an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on climate change. The initiative came about when law students at Vanuatu's University of the South Pacific presented it to their foreign minister. "I agreed that Vanuatu would see if we could get this to happen," says Foreign Minister, who has been involved in talks with COVID and UNFCCC.
