There is an argument that russia has been invaded four times since the seventeenth century, and its use the buffer countries around it to protect them. I bant i think if you go back to two thousand to two, there was a conference which lord robertson, as the then secretary general of nato, chaired in rome. And president put made it very clear that, in his opinion, russia was always portrayed and always appeared to be on the wrong side of history when it came to his relationship with europe and with the west more broadly. So i don't think it is right and proper for president putin to argue that what is happening in ukraine
