What's Going on in the Brain About These Memories?

The brain is verym and we can actually be using two streams of information at the same time. One aspect is memory. We're thinking about times we spent with the loved one, maybe even seeing the loved one decline over time or being there when they passed away. On the one hand, you know that they're gone, but on the other hand, it sort of feels like they're going to walk through the door again. And so that can be very confusing for people. I think it takes a long time for the brain to be able to predict, no, i'm not really going to see this person again.
