The Pros and Cons of InnoDB
InnoDB is probably one of the best and most stable storage engines ever. Thanks to Oracle, we have it. There was a lot of doom and gloom about them buying it. It hasn't really played out that way. And now it's proprietary, but it's a software heatwave. Also really impressive. They do know databases. The team that is behind it is still there. We wouldn't be as happy about it, but it'd be the closest. If you were to completely retool planet scale today and let’s say MySQL did not exist, would you stick with a relational or would you go more towards a document store knowing what you have to scale that?
