Gunther von Hagen inspired a whole generation of people to go into medicine based on his exhibitions. They were very controversial, because people thought that it was ghoulish - but they were real people. And he'd got this special way of embalming and plastination. So I found it just the most fascinating quest I really did. It made me realise you've got to pain in your shoulder... You don't really know where they are if you haven't ever dissected the body. That's where it all came from.
