What Do You Use the Boom Mice For?

Boom mikes were the microphones that we started using at this american life. When i first got there, i didn't kno anything about audio. As long as it's a directional mike a, what i'm trying to do often is get intimate sounding conversations. If you're out in the field and there's a rodio going on behind you, or whatever, you can just point the mike at the radio and get that ambuance sound. And then when you're done with the interview, you can just use an ambuance for bed. Ah, so i like, so much intimacy that you get with a nice, tight boommike?
